At the core of the Series 12 is a redesigned Health Sensing System, featuring more capable optical and electrical sensors and larger, more power-efficient green LEDs. This lets the watch measure heart rate every five seconds throughout the day, and heart rate variability up to 24 times more frequently than before — giving you a genuinely deeper picture of your recovery, stress, and cardiovascular health.
Introducing Readiness
A brand-new Readiness score brings together your recent activity, sleep, vitals, and recovery data into a simple 0–10 score, complete with a plain-English recommendation to help guide your day. A new Health Age score and a redesigned Health app round out a smarter, more personalized approach to understanding your body.
Smarter with Siri AI and Audio Intelligence
Powered by the new S11 chip, the Series 12 supports Siri AI along with a suite of Audio Intelligence features, including Sound Recognition (auto-alerting you to sounds like sirens and alarms), Live Rewind (rewind audio up to 15 seconds), and Siri Recap (automatic summaries of conversations).
Faster Charging, Better Workout Battery
While everyday battery life remains at up to 24 hours (up to 38 hours in Low Power Mode), charging has gotten significantly faster — a 15-minute charge now delivers 12 hours of use, and just 5 minutes on the charger provides 10 hours of sleep tracking. Outdoor workout battery life has also improved, now reaching up to 10 hours.
